On these pages you can find a checklist for all European Amphibian and Reptile species. This checklist is based upon the Fieldguide to the Amphibians and Reptiles of Britain and Europe of which I am
one of the proud co-authors. Minor changes have been made to this list*. One of these lists is in Dutch as there is currently no up to date list with Dutch species names available. Dutch names
are based upon (Speybroeck et al. 2016).
*Additionally there are eight exogenous species, occuring in the Netherlands (Elaphe schrenckii), Belgium (Orthriophis
taeniurus), Portugal (Teira dugesii), Spain (Ommatotriton ophryticus and Indotyphlops braminus) and Ukraine (Darevskia armeniaca, Darevskia dahli
and Tenuidactylus fedtschenkoi). Also two recent species splits have been added (Ablepharus anatolicus and Podarcis ionicus).
